Marc L Feldman, Psy.D., CAADC

I believe that therapy can result in meaningful and long lasting changes, as long as an individual is provided with a trusting, supportive, private, and non-judgmental environment that will allow one to identify, discuss, and resolve one's current difficulties or problems. Once this environment is established, we will work together to identify stressors and/or relationships that are contributing to your symptoms, and develop coping strategies to help you manage these problems more effectively. We will also work to identify long-standing beliefs, perceptions, and behaviors that have interfered with your ability to move forward. My clients tell me that they find it very easy to talk to me about difficult and sensitive matters, and that they feel calm and comfortable in my presence, which allows them to more easily express and process their thoughts and emotions.

As a Licensed Psychologist and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I designed my practice to assist intelligent, high functioning adults, families, teenagers, and professionals, in overcoming the barriers that are affecting their lives, relationships, professions, or education. I provide discreet and confidential treatment for various psychological and addiction related problems.

Seeking treatment for drug and alcohol abuse use can be confusing. There are a wide range of options, and it can be difficult to know what would be most helpful for the issues you are experiencing. You may be unsure if you even have a drug or alcohol problem, and may be looking for someone to talk to in order to assess what would be the most beneficial treatment for your concerns. Some individuals may benefit from weekly counseling in order to reduce or eliminate their substance use, while others may be physically dependent upon a substance, requiring medical detoxification. I will provide information and education about all of these treatment options, and we will work together to determine the best fit for you.

Some people have had a negative experience with substance abuse treatment, as they have felt that the treatment approach or the definition of "addict" did not apply to their particular problem. As the client, you will tell me the issues upon which you want to work, and we will develop an individualized treatment approach to address your current problems.

The specific nature and course of your therapy will vary, because I believe that each person is unique and that therapy should be individually tailored to suit your needs. Please call or email me for an individual, couples or family therapy consultation today.
